Collaboration | Evénement extérieur | Grand public Wou d'Uelzecht Promenade sonore
WOU d’UELZECHT – ESCH is an immersive sonic walk exploring the city centre of Esch/Alzette and its hidden river. It is created by Catherine Kontz and S. L. Grange in partnership with the CNA, United Instruments of Lucilin, Administration de la gestion de l’Eau, les Ensembles 2.2 and with a specially commissioned map (artwork by Ben Carter, design by Damien Beaton).
Following the course of the Alzette River (approx. 3km), a free, downloadable 360˚ binaural audio experience, available in 8 different languages, transforms the route into a living theatrical backdrop for pre-recorded music and sound collages which bring landscape and history to life.
While listening to 15 tracks along the route shown on the map, participants (re)-discover local history, geography and infrastructure – finding traces of the river in the curves of streets, the names of roads and discover it flowing beneath their feet.
You can download the audio tracks for free onto your device (phone, tablet, mp3 player) in the language you prefer (LU, FR, DE, EN, PT, IT, AR, UK) and print or download the map and instructions before you set off. Use your headphones to listen.
