Three of Luxembourg’s cultural institutions are joining forces to organise their first Digital Days. The Musée national d’archéologie, d’histoire et d’art (MNAHA) and the Centre national de l’audiovisuel (CNA), together with the Musée national d’histoire naturelle (MNHN), invite Digital Humanities scholars and practitioners around Europe to present their recent or current research in the field.
Description
The three organising institutions have been developing their own digital projects with the aim of engaging and connecting with their audiences.
Digital tools have helped public institutions preserve and study their collections more efficiently. The possibility of using machine learning to transcribe documents, as well as to create nodes, vocabulary trees and 3D-models allows for a more complex yet faster and clearer work process. Digital tools also allow institutions to speak to the public directly, making research more transparent, accessible and collaborative.
This is why Digital Days is targeted at people studying in the field of digital humanities or working within cultural institutions that use digital solutions, with a desire to present their most recent achievements in the digital realm.
The first day of the event will take place at the MNAHA’s Nationalmusée um Fëschmaart and includes several interactive workshops. The second day will be held at the CNA, allowing professionals and young researchers who are working and/or studying in the realm of the Digital Humanities to present their current work.
Submissions
Applicants should send a short proposal explaining their research. Successful applicants will be asked to give a 20-minute presentation. We especially encourage students working on their final Bachelor, Master’s or PhD theses to use this opportunity to network and share their ideas.
Language: The proposals can be written in English, German, French or Luxembourgish. Please note that the presentation language will be English.
Length: 300-400 words
