Join us for the unveiling of ‘Trace of Time’ by Kay Walkowiak, a captivating new book, based around the exhibition of the same name currently on show at Waassertuerm+Pomhouse, that delves into the mysteries and wonders of Time itself.
As an archive, the Centre national de l’audiovisuel is faced with Time in everything we do. The documents in our collection are tiny snippets of a moment gone by. Through them, we are trying to capture something of the past and bring this heritage into the future. Our projects take these time capsules and try to give them new life through recontextualization, combination and interpretation, creating yet more content for our collection. Simultaneously, our archivists are tirelessly trying to literally make Time stand still and stop the archival objects´ deterioration – a never ending race against the clock. The collaboration with Kay Walkowiak and the presentation of his work allowed for a different approach to this familiar subject. Time is ubiquitous, multifaceted and the room for interpretation is endless. With contributions by the artist Kay Walkowiak, by the exhibition’s curator and by author Stephen Zepke, the book aims to illustrate these different interpretations of the notion of Time, whilst simultaneously documenting the exhibition at Waassertuerm+Pomhouse as well as its creative process and production.
Don’t miss this opportunity to explore the concept of time in a whole new light. We look forward to seeing you there!
