Synopsis

A small cargo plane that was to deliver supplies to the soldiers of a unit, which got encircled, is shot down near an urban-type settlement.

The crew of four people (topographer, radio operator, volunteer, and Canadian doctor of Ukrainian origin) manages to jump out with parachutes into the occupied territory. The pilot and the pilot's assistant steer the plane away fromthe settlement. The plane falls behind the forest into a swamp.

The adventures of the crew begin on the occupied territory. Against the backdrop of the crew members’ adventures, the story of the chief’s mother, 40-year-old Galyna, who heads to the East to buy out her son from captivity, unfolds.

The film focuses on the psychology and the destiny of ordinary people facing difficult situations. Their stories are common, mundane, sometimes amusing, and melodramatic.

And the war is just a background for a story picturing peoples’ destiny and a reason to start a conversation about topical issues in the country and the world. As well as about “Immelmanns” in minds of average citizens.
