New broadcasters / producers, what issues for authors –
directors?
In an audiovisual landscape disrupted by the appearance of broadcasting platforms at the
demand (Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime, etc.) which are played broadcasters and sometimes producers,
what are the new challenges for the authors-directors and the producer?
The training is aimed at LARS member authors-directors and offers an introduction
copyright, regulation and the obligations of the platforms vis-à-vis the author-directors.
Contents of the workshop :
- The main principles of copyright and the chain of contracts
- A landscape transformed by the multiplication of SMAD/SVOD, which are the new inherent stakes?
- Regulation and obligations of the platforms vis-à-vis the authors-directors, possibly producers (in the context of own production or sales in dissemination)
- What protection for intellectual property rights?
- Case study
Speakers:
Karine Riahi, lawyer specializing in intellectual property law. Her fields cover legal techniques relating to the production and management of intellectual creations, and their economic environment.
Julien Brunet, lawyer at the Paris Bar since 2013. Julien Brunet practices the law of intellectual property, as well as the law of new technologies, information and communication. It advises and litigates in various sectors of activity (cinema, audiovisual, communication, publishing, music, personal data, news technologies).
