In the heart of New York City, Washington Heights is a neighbourhood of possibilities. Usnavi, owner of a small café in the neighbourhood, dreams of reconnecting with his roots in the Dominican Republic. But everything gets complicated when he meets Vanessa, a young woman who dreams of becoming a fashion designer. Their meeting, against a backdrop of dance and music, will turn their lives upside down in an unexpected way.
